The Meaning of 'Balance' in this Context
I'm using the word 'balance' to mean an 'internal balance' both in body and mind. This is homeostasis.
This is both an internal physical balance (from the point of view of bodily health), but is also an emotional balance. It is about how all parts of you work collectively, with no part of you working harder than any other part, and what you can do about it to make that happen.

Leading with the Correct bit
Everyone can pull their perineum (the group of muscles between the genitals and the anus), also known as the 'pelvic floor' upwards; you do it when you want to stop urinating in mid-flow. However, when you do that particular action in that way, you are leading with the perineum.
The same applies with the abdomen; everyone can pull their stomach/abdomen in, e.g. to get into a tight pair of trousers, but again, you are leading with the muscles
