The 13-Principle Tai Chi Form is what is known as a 'combined' routine.  This means that it is a compilation of various styles of Tai Chi, in this case it combines Yang, Wu, Sun, & Chen styles.

The set of movements is 'balanced', in that it is performed on one side, and then the other.

The "13 Principles" combine the 8 'Energies' and the 5 'Directions'.

8 Energies.

1. Peng 掤 – Outward Expansion

2. Lu 捋– Roll Back

3. Ji  挤 – Press Forward

4. An 按 – Push Downward

5. Cai 采 – Pull Down

6. Lie 挒– Split

7. Zhou 肘- Elbow Stroke

8. Kou 靠– Shoulder Stroke

5 Directions:

1. Jin Bu 进步 – Step Forward

2.  Tui Bu 退步– Step Backward

3. Zuo Gu 左顾- Look Left

4. You Pan 右盼 – Look Right

5. Zhong Ding 中定 – Central Equilibrium

Throughout this set of classes, you will come across several different sets of Qigong, and various associated exercises.
